VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

Incentive to brilliant students in BTC

Altogether five brilliant students who secured positions in the last HSLC and HS examinations for the year 2014 & 2015 were  felicitated and handed over cheque amounting Rs 2 lakhs each by the Director of Education, BTC .BTC deputy chief, handed over the cheques at his office chamber at the BTC Secretariat in Kokrajhar today. Among the students receiving the cheques are Hriday Jyoti Ojha from National Pioneer College, Tangla of Ualguri, who stood 5th position in the HS in 2014, Ashim Majumdar of St John’s HS school, Barama of Baksa who stood 4th position in the HSLC in 2015, Bibekajyoti Boro of Sankardev Vidyaneketan, Tamulpur in Baksa, 10 position in the HSLC in 2015,...

CM restores Hagrama security personnel

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has asked the authorities to restore the security forces attached to Hagrama Mohilary a day after the BTC chief gave up security coverage. In an order issued on Wednesday night, Gogoi asked Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia to institute a probe into the curtailment of security cover for the BTAD chief. According to sources, the order for curtailment of security personnel attached to him was done without the knowledge of the home department authority.   Hagrama on Wednesday gave the entire security cover in protest against the curtailment of security personnel attached to him.    

NDFB-S cadre arrested in Kokrajhar

Security forces arrested a NDFB-S cadre from Titaguri area under Kokrajhar PS this morning in a joint operation. The arrested cade was identified as Joy tun Narzary@ Jaila, a trained cadre along Arunach al Prades border and member of 38th batch of the outfit organisation. A pistol and two live ammunition was recovered from him. 

ASEB beat Salbagan

Assam Stste Electricity Board(ASEB) from Guwahati beat Salbagan FC from Gossaigaon 2-0 in the the first semi final of Daoharu Mungklong Trophy and entered into final, in today's match played at Dotma DASA ground in Kokrajhar. For ASEB, Apurbo Phukon netted two goals, first goal in the very beginning 2 minutes and scored another goal in 82 minutes in the second half which led the team win 2-0 . Salbagan tried to equalized the match, but failed to score any goal. Bongaigaon XI Star Club will take on Bardwi Shikla SC, Kachugaon on Thursday in the second semi final match. 

BTC session uproar over VCDC

Mohilary gives up securities

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, who is also BPF supremo has given up his all PSO and house guards expressing dissatisfied with security reduced from state govt since last few days. Mohilary told that the state govt has reduced numbers of securities including house guards at his resident at Debargaon and official resident Sudempuri in Kokrajhar which was reduced few days ago. He has termed that reduce of securities from him was totally political conspiracy and mockery of political drama to create troublesome to him. He said that he has withdrawn all security personnel and house guards attached to him.

Bongaigaon XI Star Club beat Kashibari Youth Club from Udalguri 7-6 via tie breaker in the Daoharu Mungklong Trophy being played at Dotma DASA ground in today's match and entered into semi final in Kokrajhar.
