Live concert at Ukhrul

Toward fostering betterment in all spheres of living for Ukhrulites in the backdrop of rising social ills, Tangkhul Singers' Association (TSA) is organizing a two-day live concert at Ukhrul Town Hall on July 11-12.

To be held under the theme 'Elevating Life Through Melodies', the musical extravaganza is all set to spread the message of changing life for the better for all denizens of the district.

"There is growing chaos all around us today because a host of problems are gradually eating into the vital of our society, " said TSA while advocating that it is a bounden duty of every individual to do his/her mite in tackling such situation.

"And we hope such events would at least help in enhancing people awareness of the current scenario, " exuded TSA.

Sponsored by the IDEA cellular company, the live concert will feature some of the most popular Tangkhul singers including Shimreingam Horam, Sochihan Luiram, Miss Ninglumla, AS Weapon, Magi Shimrah and Ashang Meithot. It will also bring popular Imphal-based band 'The Gravity' as guest artist, apart from lining up interesting items like choreography, dance, stand up comedy etc.

TSA was formed on 14 June earlier this year with an object of promoting local talents from within the district.

In what could be a departure from the past trends, battle for Naga People's Front (NPF) tickets is likely to be either quite rancour-free or nonexistent, at least in two of Ukhrul's three assembly segments. This time around the party leadership is probably going to be free from any hassles in issuing tickets for 45-Chingai assembly constituency as Khashim Vashum of Tusom CV has emerged the lone candidate, so far, to seek the NPF ticket. That Khashim Vashum is emerging as the favourite to get favour of NPF leaders came to the fore when hundreds of his supporters, well wishers and public from contiguous villages of northern Raphei converged at Tusom CV playground and pledged their support for...
