Students unions condemned

Police apprehended 22 students including involved persons with the unrully incidents yesterday at BPF party office in Kokrajhar.

Several bike and bycycles were seized and twenty two persons who alleggedly involved with the incidents apprehended late last night and they are being interogated, said a senior police officer in Kokrajhar.

   Meanwhile, several students union and social organisations including All Bodo Students Union,Bodo Sahitya Sabha strongly condemned the unrully students activity and misbehaved to MLA Pramila Rani Brahma on Saturday in Kokrajhar.

Promod Boro,president of ABSU said that the unrully incident held at BPF party office and misbehaviour to senior MLA Brahma was condemnable and serious concern for society. He has demanded stern action against involved perosns and meet healthy environment among society.

Kamala Kanta Mushahary,general secretary of Bodo sahitya sabha condemned the incident and allegged that there was lack of security in the town of which unwanted incident occurred.

The Bodo Students Union has also condemned yesterday’s gheraoed on BPF party office by the students and misbehaved to MLA Brahma in Kokrajhar town.

The students union said, ‘We are aware that among the students gathering there were genuine students and maximum are drop-out students.There are rumors among students themselves that the incidents occure due to incidication of some of the unscrupulous mind.The students were innoents and they were misledad by some of the opportunists to cretae chaos for political benefits.The students union warn such anti-social mind people to remain abstain from involving with the students community.The  union urged the dsitrict adminsitartion to conduct inquire into incident and arrests involved culprits’,Swgwmsar Basumatary, president of the  BSU said.

A businessman was hospitalized after attacked with sharp weapon by miscreants at Champa bazaar area on Friday evening in Kokrajhar district. An emergency response mock drill was conducted by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Habrubari in Kokrajhar district on Friday,which was a part of offsite emergency mock on the IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri underground pipeline to test the preparedness of its emergency personnel.
