Advocate Abhijit Goswami passes away
A well-practiced lawyer of Golaghat, noted journalist and a leading citizen Abhijit Goswami (59) died after suffering a cardiac arrest on 24th of February at a local Nursing Home at Golaghat where he was admitted when he complained of severe chest pain. Late Goswami born on 22nd February 1949 at Sivasagar was a meritorious student since his childhood. After his graduation from D.R. College he completed his MA and did LLB from the Gauhati University and joined the Golaghat Bar Association and rendered his services as a successful lawyer. Later he was appointed as a public prosecutor and served for ten years on the post. Apart from this late Goswami had a keen interest in journalism and served as an Special Correspondent for the entire Golaghat district contributing to Dainik Janambhumi. Late Mr. Goswami survived with his wife Dr. Lukumani Goswami, a daughter, an old mother and brothers and siters. His sudden demise was lamented by a number of social and cultural organizations all over Assam along with his colleagues.
