Kokrajhar boy gets 3rd position

Anarjithom Roy of Kokrajhar BPCM Babyland School has secured third spot sharing with other two students in the HSLC examination, result declared today scoring 579 marks out of 600(97%) and brought a happy educational scenario in the heart town of BTAD. The student and guardians of the school celebrated joyous at the school and wished for happy successful.

Roy, son of Baskarjyoti Roy, a resident of Santinagar Bank Colony in Kokrajhar town brings the limelight result for school in Kokrajhar district scoring all letter marks in all subjects.

Rina Majumdar, Principal of the school has congratulated to Roy and wished for his bright successful.

The four districts of BTAD including Kokrajhar have made 51.87%, Chirang 29.79%; Baksa 59.24% and Udalguri 44.76% passed percentages respectively in the final examinations.

 Two students scored 93 out of 100 marks in Bodo(MIL)-Klinton Boro(Baksa) and Arup Swargiary(Chirang).

Derhasat Basumatary, BTC executive member for Education department congratulated to all passed out students in the BTAD region and wished for good educational situation in the region in coming days.

Rabisangkhar Borgoyary, BTC education director told that there are 21,402 students passed out the examination out of 43,998 appeared students, including 2,414 in first division, 7,192 in second and 11,716 in third divisions in the final examination from four districts.

The Private managed schools in Kokrajhar and Chirang district made bright results then government schools, including the UN Academy, Kokrajhar 98.14%, the BPCM Babyland school 97.29% and the Gyanpuri Rupamani Bathow School has scored 80% respectively.

Pramila condemns Khattar's beef remark

Former Assam Minister and prominent Bodoland People's Front (BPF) MLA Pramila Rani Brahma strongly reacted Haryana Chief Minister Manoharlal Khattar's remarks on beef eating as "unfortunate and condemnable".Brahma, while talking exclusively to Assam Times has termed remarks from a responsible CM of a state of secular country is condemnable and unwanted in today's era. Ushering of Agriculture in BTC

An interactive session with central SFAC from New Delhi was held at BTC secretariat, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Saturday. Manas opens up for tourists

 The Manas National Park opens up for tourists on Saturday. Bodoland Territorial Council Deputy Chief Executive Khampha Borgoyari opened the national park at a brief function at the Second Gate of Bahbari Range in the morning.More than 100 foreign tourists along with many other visitors were present in the function who later toured the national park which has been remaining closed the during monsoon season. It opens a bit earlier than the previous years.

Beefed up security in Kokrajhar

Security tightens in Kokrajhar district in the run up to the Durga puja celebrations which begins from Monday.Talking to reporters in Kokrajhar on Friday, SP Shyamal Prasad Saikia, said that police started gearing up checking of vehicles to thwart any attempt to disrupt the festival. He has policemen are on alert to deal with the anti-social activities like kidnapping, extortion, demands from the trader, employees and citizens from anti-social doers.He said that CCTVs would be installed in puja pandals to closely monitor the movement of people. 

Rising beat Jaiklong at Kagrabari

Rising SC from Tinali beat Jaiklong SC from Banargaon 4-2 in the Tikendra Brahma and Aolang Brahma memorial football trophy being played in Friday’s match at Kagrabari ground in Kokrajhar.For Rising, Bipul Roy scored first goal in 40 minutes and led the team 1-0 in the first half.For Jaiklong, Tomash Brahma scored two goals in 53 minutes and 53 minutes against rising in the second half. Bipul Roy netted another goal in 74 minutes,Biron Brahma and Mongal Soren scored one each goal in 71 minutes and 76 minutes respectively in the second half and defeated  Rising 4-2. ASEB lift Daoharu Mungklong trophy

Assam State Electricity Board(ASEB) from Guwahati defeated Bardwi Shikla SC from Kachugaon 1-0 and lifted the Daoharu Mungklong Trophy in Friday’s final match at the Dotma ground in Kokrajhar.For ASEB, Sanjoy Boro netted lone goal in 16 minutes and led the team 1-0 in the first half.Bardwi Shikla tried to equalised the match during the match. Stop corruption rally in Kokrajhar

Hundreds of BJP activists and leaders on Friday joined in the protest rally against corruption demanding early VCDC election in BTC to ensure good governance in Kokrajhar. With banners, festoons, placards the protesters shouted slogans demanding early measures to stop corruption in the implementing of the various government schemes in the state.
