Dr MMS is the MP from Assam and he should take the moral responsibilty for the violence. The UPA and state government who had been ruling for the last 10 years must be blamed for such butchery. But Congress sees only shadow of Modi on anything. The Congress leaders leaders who used to revel in the luxury and comforts in Delhi offices were always apathetic towards the violence in Kashmir and Punjab during the 1970's and 1980's. The secular leaders were more philosohical and much less practical in understanding the problems of people in all parts of the country. There was similar violence in 2012 in NE. Then the government should have take precautionary measures to avert the occurance of similar incidents. When there is NO capable ruler or leader at the centre, the state governments will also follow the anarchy. "Yatha Raja Thatha Praja" means "AS THE RULER SO THE RULED". If the king of the country is of good character, with good heart and always thinking of well-being of his subjects, and if he is a spiritual thinker and peaceful minded, his subjects will be like him in all these ways too
A security alert is in place across the state apprehending strike by al-Qaeda. Quoting intelligence sources Chief minister Tarun Gogoi told reporters on Saturday the international terrorist group has been planning to strike in a number of places during the Durga puja festival. A special court in Guwahati has sent sentenced two engineers of the agriculture department to two years rigorous imprisonment for misappropriating development funds in Dima Hasao district. The court order was issued on Wednesday which further imposed fine of Rs 15,000 after Deepak Hazarika and Promod Chandra Saikia were convicted.The CBI was probing the anomalies in the department in the hills district where funds meant for agriculture were misappropriated. CBI registered the case on May 13, 2010 and chargesheet was filed on November 23, 2011 before the special CBI court against the duo. He said it would give an impetus to the economy. Gogoi observed that 80 per cent of the loan being extended would help the entrepreneurs and skilled youths to set up their own ventures and to become self—reliant. MUKUT GOGOI, SONARI: At least three army jawans have sustained serious injury when suspected ULFA militants exploded a powerful grenade in Sivasagar district on Friday. The incident took place at around 8 in the morning at Sonari where the IED blew off near a group of army jawans. The injured have been rushed to the hospital. Police and para military forces arrived in the spot and cordoned off the entire area to nab the militants who exploded the bomb.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi wants deployment of Sashtra Seema Bal along the Assam-Nagaland border which at times, turns volatile. Police on Thursday seized two licensed revolvers from Shankar Baruah’s residence a day after the former DGP shot himself dead. According to police who carried out formal investigation on Thursday at his residence in Ujanbazar with the help of CID and FSL, he killed himself with one of the revolvers. The team collected fingerprints and one used cartridge of a .32-bore revolver apart from obtaining the photographic and videographic records of the spot.
