The Assam Government has recommended NIA probe into the BTAD violence where at least 33 people were killed.

Talking to reporters after the cabinet meeting in Dispur, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that this is a fit case for NIA probe.

Gogoi said that his government has sought extra forces from the Centre apart from Cobra forces to firmly deal with the situation.

Dr MMS is the MP from Assam and he should take the moral responsibilty for the violence. The UPA and state government who had been ruling for the last 10 years must be blamed for such butchery. But Congress sees only shadow of Modi on anything. The Congress leaders leaders who used to revel in the luxury and comforts in Delhi offices were always apathetic towards the violence in Kashmir and  Punjab during the 1970's and 1980's. The secular leaders were more philosohical and much less practical in understanding the problems of people in all parts of the country. There was similar violence in 2012 in NE. Then the government should have take precautionary measures to avert the occurance of similar incidents. When there is NO capable ruler or leader at the centre, the state governments will also follow the anarchy. "Yatha Raja Thatha Praja" means "AS THE RULER SO THE RULED". If the king of the country is of good character, with good heart and always thinking of well-being of his subjects, and if he is a spiritual thinker and peaceful minded, his subjects will be like him in all these ways too

Bogibeel waiting for 2016

The railway minister on Tuesday confirmed that the Bogibeel project would be completed by 2016.Gowda announced a huge Rs 54,000 crore package to uplift the region’s railway connectivity. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, Gowda said that Assam alone would get Rs 5,400 crore to improve and expand railway network. After reviewing the railway projects, he said that Assam will get seven new trains very soon.

An upbeat AIUDF again slammed Congress saying that the ruling party had to heavy price of rampant corruption and misgovernance in the assembly polls.Talking to reporters after the formal announcement of the by poll results in Jamunamukh, AIUDF president Badaruddin Ajmal said that more murky days await the ruling party. “It the price of rampant corruption and misgovernance of the Tarun Gogoi government,” said Ajmal.  Notably, his party retained Jamunamukh while got second position in Silchar and Lakhipur.  

Lakhipur saves Congress face

Congress candidate Rajdeep Goala stole the show in the assembly by polls defeating his nearest rival AIUDF candidate Mukesh Pandey at the end of the poll counting on Tuesday. The son of former MLA Dinesh Prasad Goala obtained 80,096 votes followed by AIUDF candidate where BJP candidate had to remain satisfied with third position.  

AIUDF retains Jamunamukh

AIUDF retains Jamunamukh assembly seat in the by polls on conducted on Saturday.Party candidate Abdur Rahim Ajmal defeated his nearest rival Congress candidate B Laskar by a margin of 22,959 votes.The son of party chief Badarudin Ajmal obtained 62,163 votes leaving the BJP candidate in the third place. Earlier, polling started at 8 in the morning after the authorities opened the strong rooms amid tight security measures.

BJP smiles in Silchar

Ruling Congress lost Silchar assembly seat in the bypolls conducted on Saturday. The defeat was so humiliating that the party candidate Arjun Dutta Majumdar had to remained satisfied with third position.The contest was straight between BJP candidate Dilip Kumar Paul and AIUDF counterpart Nur Ahmed Borbhuyan who was defeated by a margin over 36,000 votes after the end of the final round of counting.Paul got 71,876 votes to defeat his nearest rival AIUDF candidate.
