He brings the honour to the ASSAM as well as for the country. I am wising his bright career in boxing and expecting that he will do great in international arena. I am expecting medal from Shiva in President Haider Ali Cup at AJERBAIJAN from 6th to 10th may, 2008.

Two people died on the spot while a tractor on which they were riding was dashing against a moving train at an unmanned level crossing near Jogijan in Nagaon on Tuesday. According to an official statement, the incident took place when the tractor entered through the unmanned level crossing collided with the speeding 0865 Up train in the afternoon. Later, Lumding Divisional manager S S Narayanan rushed to the spot with senior officials and took stock of the situation. The train reached Hojai at around 4 in the afternoon.

The Asom Gana parishad’s eleven member unification panel is meeting to day in the city to carry forward the amalgamation of the regional parties before the Lok Sabha polls. Senior Professor and former science dean of Gauhati University Akhil Kumar Medhi is set to be the new Vice Chancellor of the same varsity. At last forest department has managed to arrest poacher Manu Bazbaruah from the city on Monday. According to information, Manu was arrested on his way to the Santipur based forest office. Later he was produced before the session court in the city which remanded him to fourteen days judicial custody.
