Kanaksen Deka denies corruption in Asom Sahitya Sabha

Mired in umpteen numbers of allegations of corruption, Assam Sahitya Sabha president Kanaksen Deka said a section people has been trying to tarnish the image of the literary organization by spreading some mispublicity.

Addressing a pres conference on Tuesday, Deka said some people are doing these only for their personal aggrandizement. He said these controversies are some mispublicity and that is not scared of these. He denied any uneasy situation during the meeting of the Sabha recently in Jorhat as it was published in some dailies.

Asom Sahitya Sabha will launch sapling plantation programme at the state’s primary and middle schools on the occasion of the World Environment Day on June 5. Moreover, the Sabha will observe work culture week from that day, he said.

Also, Deka said Sabha will be set up in front of the Guwahati district library the statues of Jyoti Prasad Agarwalla, Bishnuprasad Rabha and Phani Sarma.. Besides the statues of Laxminath bezbaruah, Padmanath Gohainbaruah, Hemchandra baruah and Ambikagiri Raychaudhury will be set on the bank Dighalipukhuri.
