The ‘Second Mess’ or Swahid Ranjit Borpujari (SRB) Boys’ Hostel of Cotton College is going to have a ‘curtain raiser’ function on September 8 before the final centenary function scheduled in December. The hostel established in 1913 has completed is going to organize a two-day programme on December 28-29 on the hostel campus to mark the centenary.
Ex-borders of the hostel that includes Tripura governor Debananda Konwar and assembly speaker Pranab Gogoi and several other dignitaries of the state are likely to be present in the function.
“The curtain raiser will be discussing the various issues related to the hostel. The original hostel has been abandoned due to the dilapidated condition of its building. The curtain raiser meeting will try to press the authority to revamp the hostel and bring back the glory. It is an effort to bring all former borders together," said the steering committee press statement.
