Very happy to know that the association is continuing to do well and growing. I had the privilege of being the President of the association around 1981-82 when I was a Professor of IIT-Madras ( now Chennai). During Assam Movement, we published the Brahmaputra Beckons. Guwahati: Over 100 people sustained injury and properties worth thousands of crores have been damaged as a ravaging storm lashed 3 Upper Assam districts on Sunday. The storm ravaged thousands of houses started at 9 in the evening lasted for around 15 minutes leaving a trail of devastation in Jorhat,Sivasagar and Dibrugarh districts. In yet another mysterious  explosion that ripped apart Guwahati on Tuesday 12 people sustained injury putting the security forces in a state of utter confusion and cluelessness.
