Very happy to know that the association is continuing to do well and growing. I had the privilege of being the President of the association around 1981-82 when I was a Professor of IIT-Madras ( now Chennai). During Assam Movement, we published the Brahmaputra Beckons. PTI Dhubri District Correspondent Om Prakash Todi passed away on Thursday evening at 7.30 pm in Dhubri. He had gone for news coverage at 3 pm, complained about chest pain at 4 pm. He was taken for ECG at around 5 pm and then passed away at 7.30 pm, according to his son Ravindra Todi who is also a Journalist. Todi  had contributed news to PTI for over 25 years and was the senior most district correspondent of the news agency. He was in his early 70s when he passed away.

Guwahati: Justice Ajay Lamba was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court today. Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi administered him the oath of office at a solemn function in presence of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal held at Darbur Hall in Raj Bhavan.
