KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi charged Congress MLA in Dharampur Nilamoni Sen Deka with masterminding the attack on him on Friday where he was injured.
In his FIR moved at the Nalbari police station, the RTI activist alleged that the attack was carried out by six youth Congress activists at the instance of Assam Agriculture and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Nilamani Sen Deka who hails from Dharmapur constituency.
Gogoi received head injury when a group of miscreants attacked him on his way to the flood-hit Punni village. Gogoi was admitted to the Nalbari Civil Hospital in a critical condition.The police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Former Asam Assembly Speaker and AGP(P) leader Ganesh Kutum passed away on Wednesday night. he was 60. The end came at around 9-30 at the International Hospital in the city of Guwahati where he was admitted a few days back. he was suffering from kidney ailment. Before that he was undergoing treatment in New Delhi. Several parties, organisations and individuals have expressed deep shock at the untimely demise of Kutum. The Assam Rifles on Thursday has claimed that there are no ULFA camps in Myanmar. Addressing a pres conference in Shillong Director General Assam rifles Lt Gen K S Yadava said the army of the neighbouring country is acting against the Indian rebels using its territory adding that there is substantiate amount of cooperation between the two countries on this issue Lt Gen K S Yadava added that the rebels groups were to set up temporary shelters in the country and they have been coordinating with the Myanmarese army. Several persons have been injured when police resorted to lathicharge on Thursday to disperse a group of people at Bandordewa along Assam-Arunachal border while they were blocking roads. According to information, more than five thousands of people from six minority organisations were blocking the roads alleging atrocity on minority people in the name of detecting and deportation of Bangladeshi immigrants in the area. Several vehicles have also been damaged in the incident.
Altogether 20 people have been injured, three of them critically, when suspected ULFA militants exploded a powerful bomb in Bijni in Chirang district of lower Assam. According to information, the blast took place in front of the office of the Bijni Circle officer at around 10-30 in the morning. The bomb was stripped at a bicycle which left off with a huge sound that jolted the town. Top ranked police officers have rushed to the spot and investigation is going on.
