Golaghat Govt. Bezbarua Higher Secondary School to Celebrate 125 Years
Golaghat Govt. Bezbarua Higher Secondary School (GGBHSS), one of the premier educational institutions of the state, has completed a glorious era of 125 years. To mark the completion of this glorious era, the school authorities have lined up some colourful events with year-long programme, the first of which is a Mass Marathon Rally from the school, scheduled on February 13, Monday, at 8 O’clock in the morning. The distance to be covered by the rally is 6(Six) km and the time to be taken by the rally to complete the distance is estimated to be about 2 hours. This was informed by Biman Chandra Goswami, Principal of GGBHSS in a press meet held in the school today. He further informed that the celebration committee has decided to hold some workshops on various subjects. These are a Mathematics Workshop in the month of April and May, a Drama Workshop in July and a workshop on Bihu dance in April. There will also be a literary competition in June he added.
The school authority has urged everybody to be a part of the programme. On the occasion of the 125 years celebration the school authorities has also opened a bank account bearing A/C No. 32144929043 in the Pulibor branch of SBI in the name “125 years celebration GBHSS Golaghat” appealing all the former students, well wishers of the school to offer their contribution to make the celebration a success. A website regarding the 125 years celebration of the school will also be inaugurated.

Moreover the RBI’s recent abandonment of 25 paisa coins has aggravated the already existing scarcity of small denomination currency units.
