Abandoned baby got tangled in legal hassle

The four month old baby found abandoned on 22 October on a railway track near Tiruwal village in Golaghat and had a miraculous escape even after four train crossing over the way has become the eye of the apple of the local villagers who discovered him. They have even christened him as Ajooba Ahmed befitting his survival. But a dispute regarding his custody arose when Saifuddin Ahmed and Asfa Ahmed, the couple who rescued Ajooba, today refused to hand over the baby to District authority and Indian Council of Child Welfare. The couple said that they would not hand over the baby at any cost then a team of police official turned up at their place to take forceful custody of the baby. The villagers retaliated angrily and tension is prevailing in the area till the filing of this report. It is indeed unfortunate that a four month old baby has got tangled in legal hassles and hoped that he finds a safe shelter very soon.
