Bomb Blast on Railway Track at Darrangiri

A powerful bomb planted by unidentified militants on a railway track exploded at Darranggiri-Moishkhuli in Goalpara district damaging little portion of the tracks in the wee hours of Independence Day.Luckily, a Guwahati to Bongaigaon bound goods train carrying oil had a miraculous escape and went ahead with its schedule.Till now, no loss of lives and property has been reported. Although no one had claimed responsibility for the blast, police suspects the hand of militants in the explosion. On the other hand, the explosion came at a time when security has been heightened across throughout the district along with rest of the state, to thwart attempts by militant organizations to discourage the celebration of Independence Day.
