The United Liberation Front of Assam has given a private petroleum 45 days ultimatum to quit Assam. In an e-mail statement, ULFA publicity wing leader Arunodoy Dohotia alleged that the Shivani Oil and Gas Exploration Services Private Limited must quit Assam by one and a half month. He alleged that the private oil exploration company has been exploiting Assam's fabulous natural resources safeguarded by the Union Government. Dohotia further threaten armed action against the private oil company if it fails to quit Assam.

A team of cardiologists led by Dr Ramakanta pandais closely monitoring Gogoi's health at the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai. After a brief silence, ULFA strikes back again with a grenade blast in lower Assam's Goalpara district leaving 6 CRPF jawans dead on Friday. The incident took place at around 11 in the morning at Solmari when ULFA militants lobbed a powerful hand grenade at a CRPF patrolling party. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has been discharged from Max hospital on Wednesday. Gogoi would be shifted to Mumbai in a day or two for open heart surgeries. It is learnt that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has urged Dr Ramakanta Panda to attend on the Chief Minister. The Prime Minieter who talked to Gogoi on Tuesday has suggested him to go to Dr Panda at the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai. Dr Panda was attending on the Prime Minister last year.

One person died, another injured as a police constable unleashed terror among the members of his family in Guwahati on Tuesday. The incident took place at Lotakota area in the city. The Assam government is planning some change in the NRC papers. Disclosing this at a press conference in Guwahati om Sunday government spokesperson Himanta Biswa Sarma said NRC upgradation work has been suspended for a very brief period of time. "Let the Chief Minister return from Delhi. We will talk to the various parties and organisation before resuming the project" said the minister.
Sarma said the government has ordered a judicial probe into the recent Barpeta firing where 5 persons does and over 50 injured.
