Gogoi to leave for Mumbai for heat surgeries


Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is all set to undergo open heart surgeries on Wednesday next. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union home minister P Chidamnabam visited Gogoi at his Tinmurti based residence in the evening on Thursday.


According to information, Gogoi is leaving for the Mumbai-based Asian Heart Institute on Friday afer a checked-up by noted cardiologist Dr Ramakanta Panda. Dr Panda was escorted to Delhi by the Chief Minister's personal doctor Dr Anjonjyoti Bhattacharya. Gogoi was discharged from the Max Hospital on Thursday evening where he was rushed to in Friday following complaints of breathing problems as he was participating in the National Development Council Meeting in New Delhi.


On the other hand, Gogoi has askd three senior ministers including Pradyut Bordoloi and Dr Bhumidhar Barman to oversee his functionings.
