Two hardcore NDFB rebels were arrested with by police in the outskirt of Guwahati city on Saturday.
According to information, a team of police led by Superintendent of police Partha Sarathi Mahanta nabbed the duo and seized pistols and explosives from the spot. They were apprehended at Bondapar near Boko along Bhutan border on Saturday morning.
Two 9-mm pistols with ammunition and documents were recovered from the two ultras identified as Manabendra Basumatary and Ramesh Rabha. The interrogation was on at Boko police station.
It may be recalled that 6 NDFB militants were arrested on Friday in separate raids from Guwahatit. The arrests were made during an operation by security forces on different rented accommodations in Guwahati. According to police, NDFB's publicity chief B Barbhai and the outfit's women's wing leader Sharmistha Brahma were among the six arrested during separate raids. They were staying in different rented accommodations masquerading as students.
