CPIM general secretary Prakash Karat says that his party would raise the multi crore scam in NC Hills of Assam in parliament. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Monday, Karat said siphonning off money meant for poor people is a grave and an unpardonable crime and that the guilty persons deserve punishment. Karat along with top party leaders held a brainstorming meet to formulate strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in Assam.

There is no positive outcome in the district after scam issue and all the political leaders are busy in making an image for the upcoming election with the in the name of scam issue.
The district name should be totally named as DIMA HASAO in every article as suggested...as it is officially accepted in the gazzated offices in the state.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is all set to undergo two complicated bypass surgeries. A team of cardiologists led by Dr Ramakanta pandais closely monitoring Gogoi's health at the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai. According to information, Gogoi's surgical incision would begin at 8 in the morning on Wednesday at room no. 422. The surgery would continue for 4 to 5 hours. After a brief silence, ULFA strikes back again with a grenade blast in lower Assam's Goalpara district leaving 6 CRPF jawans dead on Friday. The incident took place at around 11 in the morning at Solmari when ULFA militants lobbed a powerful hand grenade at a CRPF patrolling party. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has been discharged from Max hospital on Wednesday. Gogoi would be shifted to Mumbai in a day or two for open heart surgeries. It is learnt that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has urged Dr Ramakanta Panda to attend on the Chief Minister. The Prime Minieter who talked to Gogoi on Tuesday has suggested him to go to Dr Panda at the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai. Dr Panda was attending on the Prime Minister last year.

One person died, another injured as a police constable unleashed terror among the members of his family in Guwahati on Tuesday. The incident took place at Lotakota area in the city. It was at around 8:30 in the evening when constable Bimal Phukan shot dead his father in law Shabed Ali when they clashed over property. Gogoi was admitted to the hospital on Saturday following his complaint of breathing difficulty as he was attending the NDC meeting.
The Assam government is planning some change in the NRC papers. Disclosing this at a press conference in Guwahati om Sunday government spokesperson Himanta Biswa Sarma said NRC upgradation work has been suspended for a very brief period of time. "Let the Chief Minister return from Delhi. We will talk to the various parties and organisation before resuming the project" said the minister.
Sarma said the government has ordered a judicial probe into the recent Barpeta firing where 5 persons does and over 50 injured.
