100 hours NCHills Bandh disrupts normal at Haflong
The NC. Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum sponsored 100 hours N. C. Hills Bandh started from 6 PM on Friday disrupted the normal life at Haflong. Due to 4th Saturday all the offices remain closed. No vehicle was seen on the road except of security.
The NCHISF has been demanding immediate bifurcation of N. C. Hills into two Autonomous District with separate Autonomous Council. The Government has also constituted a task force to deal with them. Last 21st January was fixed for talk in-between task force and the IPF and NCHISF but it was deferred by January 28th. Now both the organizations are demanding immediate solution to their demand.

Miscreants burnt down at least 16 houses of Gaijen village under Haflong police Station this morning at about 4 AM on Sunday and killed one 90 years old deft man Thangsiring Daolagupu injuring 3 other persons of the village. The ASDC Dima Hasao District Committee condemned the recent violence in Dima Hasao district, criticizing the Govt that it was due to Govt’s lack of adequate sincerity in dealing with such a law and order situation of Dima Hasao district that miscreants have been facilitated to strike at the vulnerable areas and to commit any acts of violence in the district. The Dimasa Mothers' Association (DMA), Haflong expressed shock at the dastardly act of some armed groups of miscreants who attacked the innocent and armed innocent tribal villagers of Choto Longren and burned down 8 (eight) houses on the night of 13-10-11 and vehemently condemn such act of cowardice. Delay in fund release to the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council is the prime hindrance of development in the district of Dima Hasao opined conscious citizen of the district.
