100 hours NCHills Bandh disrupts normal at Haflong
The NC. Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum sponsored 100 hours N. C. Hills Bandh started from 6 PM on Friday disrupted the normal life at Haflong. Due to 4th Saturday all the offices remain closed. No vehicle was seen on the road except of security.
The NCHISF has been demanding immediate bifurcation of N. C. Hills into two Autonomous District with separate Autonomous Council. The Government has also constituted a task force to deal with them. Last 21st January was fixed for talk in-between task force and the IPF and NCHISF but it was deferred by January 28th. Now both the organizations are demanding immediate solution to their demand.

There was an explosion on railway track near Tunnel no 11 at Mahur last night caused minor damage to the railway line. The Deputy Commissioner Dima Hasao District Shri Dilip Borthakur, I.A.S. and ADC. Shri Khanindra Chowdhury, ACS ceremonially flagged off the Chief Minister Gyanjyoti Programme/2011 at Circuit House Haflong at 7 A.M on 19TH October, 2011. Altogether 48 (forty eight) students from various parts of the district participated in the programme. Out of which 28 are boys and 20 are girls. The team is led by Shri R.K.
