The CNN-IBN has selected Assam's noted RTI activist Akhil Gogoi as one of the top ten young leader of the country. This was confirmed by the KMSS leader on Friday in Guwahati. The country's premier satellite news channel has also selected 9 other top young leaders. Gogoi has been waging war against largescale corruptions that cripple the public life for the last several years. He has been leading the farmers' body (KMSS) who of late, dropped a bomb shell against Assam health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma alleging his nexus with R H Khan where a huge amount of fund meant for Dima Hasao district was siphoned off.
its rare in today's world that someone so genuinely comes out of the me myself domain so selflessly for a cause that involves people in a large spectrum.

Akhil Da, We want our own resources to be preserved for future generation of Assamese people, mere giving a compensation
for our land ,water by the Indian companies will not serve our purpose. We want our right to natural resources we have like nagaland,Arunachal Pradesh where even Indian big shot ONGC dare to start exploration,no one can buy a piece of land in Arunachal even PM of India cannot. we want people stock option in the Indian company where our people lost their land,job in the hand of Indian company hiddenly funded by world bank, Asian development bank,IMF etc .Sorry to say even our Prime Minister Dr. MM singh Ji is a virtual clark of World bank.

PCG member Mukul Mahanta charges ULFA Chief Arabind Rajkhowa of accepting a huge amount of money as bribe from the government to start the peace talk.Talking to a private satellite news channel on Tuesday, Mahanta said Rajkhowa received Rs 5000 crore for stage managing arrests of ULFA top guns to enact a drama on peace talk.Mahanta was one of those who were appointed by ULFA to broker peace with the government.
Centre's interlocutor PC Halder held a crucial meet with ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa inside the Guwahati Central Jail premises on Tuesday.Halder,the retired intelligence bureau chief is understood to have reviewed ULFA'S preparedness for talk with the government on Tuesday.Halder's talk with Rajkhowa assumes significance in view of the presence of a few top rung ULFA leaders in Nalbari and Barama for joining Rajkhowa's peace procuring bid.Halder visited Rajkhowa on Monday.

At least 175 students fell ill after they consumed meal served in school in Dibrugarh district on Monday. The incident took place at No 3 Line LP School in Borbaruah Tea Estate at around 1PM after they consumed mid day meal provided by the school. According to information,half an hour after after they consumed the meal the students,mostly complained stomach pain,some others started vomitting inside the classrooms while aa few of them fell unconscious. Local residents rushed these students to the nearest hospital while 5of them have been shifted to the AMCH where they are battling for life. Altogether 19 top ULFAmen who are supposed to have been arrested in Bangladesh before being handed over to Assam police have been brought to Guwahati. According top police sources,these ULFAmen would not be produced in court as they have surrendered before the authority. In yet another development,vULFA has appointed Arunodoi Dohotiya in the central publicity wing. This was disclosed by ULFA C-in-C Paresh Baruah at an e-mail statement sent to media.
At least 10 top ULFA leaders have been captured in Bangladesh. According to information,they have been handed over to Indian government on Friday. All these leaders are in Assam police custody.
