Endhiran, the most expensive flick of India

Nothing much left to discuss about this great piece of art.But Still we talk about it.Though it is a bollywood movie but no doubt, ‘Sholay’ is more than a movie. It is one of the greatest milestones of Indian Cinema. Released on 15 August,1975, the film made history.Whether it is Gabbar or Thakur, every character of this film are familiar to cine-lovers.But this time, we are going to watch the successor of ‘Sholay’...!! Though it sounds hard, but Superstar Rajnikant recently compared ‘Sholay’ with his coming mega project ‘Endhiran’.

He says, Endhiran or Robot (Hindi Version) is the first Indian Film of its type and that every aspect of it is comparable to cult Hindi movie ‘Sholay’.

After a long period of 35 years,Sholay, which is still fondly remembered, is compared to Endhiran because of strong storyline. Sholay made history not because of the money or budget involved, not because it was a multi-starer including the big names of that time like Dharmendra, Hema Malini,Sanjeev Kapoor as well as the upcoming star Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan,Amjad khan. Sholay was not rewarded for its technical qualities too. But it create magic in box office and made history just because of its Subject, superb characterization and strong script. Rajnikant says, like ‘Sholay’, in ‘Robot’ too there is an excellent storyline, excellent character sketches.

‘Endhiran’ is quoted as the much awaited scientifiec fiction fantasy flick of 2010. Around Rs.160 crore has been invested to make this sci-fi. The God of South, Rajnikant will be seen sharing screen with Bollywood beauty Aishwariya Rai Bachchan. Other casts of the movie includes the names like Dany Danzongpa too.The story of this acton-packed movie revolves around a Robot. It is a unique concept in which the Robot turns into a human being and starts mingling with the society.

This Tri-lingual film will be released in Telegu, Tamil as well as in Hindi. Oscar winner music maestreo A R Rehman composed the tunes for this costliest ever movie, Directed by noted filmmaker Shankar. To Shankar, Endhiran is not inspired from any other works at all. It's unique and inspired from his own imagination.Apart from all this, Big-B will be there but this time 'Off-screen'! Amitabh Bachchan will be in ‘Endhiran’,voicing for Robot. It seems that there is no stone unturned in making it a ‘Big hit’.

Endhiran, is being considered as the next big thing in the indian cinema history. But is it really the ‘Successor’ of Sholay!! We have no way left other than wait for coming 24 September, the expected date of ‘Robot’s arrival in theatres..!

Talking to Papon while interviewing him has always been fun. His sense of humor stands tall all throughout. But, recently his comment on the national anthem dragged him into a controversy of sorts. The matter however, went under the carpet after Papon clarified the matter.I visited Papon at his Nigaji Pam residence to know about his new compositions and his on stage performances following Bihu.‘Performing on stage during Bihu has always been special and it’s truly different from my other shows across the globe. I get the opportunity to perform for my own people amidst a festive atmosphere.’ says Papon. Bihu is a big platform or medium to communicate with different classes of the society and...
Only quantity or quality too? It’s not just a question; actually it becomes a matter of serious debate when it comes to Assamese Cinema. Unfortunately it has been a long period of Assamese Cinema suffering from various issues. Among them, lack of audience and poor economic statistics are undoubtedly prime. Few years back, the number of Assamese cinema releasing in a year had gone very low and this decreasing quantity also created various questions relating to the future and existence of the Assamese Cinema industry.  But now the situation has been quite changed. From last two-three years we have been experiencing a rising graph of Assamese cinema in terms of quantity specially. Adding...
In these days, it seems there is nothing else for the people interested in Assamese art & cultural to enjoy and experience except Mobile Theatre. And hence, once again spectators are showing overwhelmed response and love, as before, towards this medium of entertainment in different parts of the state. From this mid-august, almost every troupe has started their journey with new thoughts and new expectations. But when each and every troupe keeping on demanding their superiority over the others and arguing in favour of their dramas, the common spectators find some of the plays really heart-touching and worth-watch. And their anxious expressions through different medium drawing the...
Few days ago, if you would have gone into any of recording studios at Guwahati, there is maximum chance of getting it busy with the Mobile Theatre songs. It is because in these particular months in every year, about from May to August, almost every recording studio at Guwahati remains busy and booked for the recordings of Mobile Theatre troupes. Not only the studios, but also the artists, music arrangers, composers, lyricists all have to keep themselves working for the only profit-making as well as growing entertainment industry of the state, i.e. Mobile Theatre. Needless to say, they have to work day-night in such studios to meet the deadlines of several projects as most the troupes are...
Nobody knows, when exactly Romeo born, when Juliet came into his life and how the greatest love story ever started. It is because of the fact that the history of English literature has not any reliable answer to the question: ‘when the "Bard of Avon" exactly penned the Romeo and Juliet?’ The Question becomes little bit tougher as whenever we saw it on stage, it looks fresh and relevant to our present scenario. It is really hard to find why we, the audience, weep silently for the tragic ending of the love pair again and again, even after knowing the story and watching it many times. Perhaps it’s the magical touch of the greatest English writer William Shakespeare, the Bard of Avon, which has...
Among the innumerous quotes on life one goes like this: Life is a beautiful struggle. Yeah, life is really a struggle but beautiful!! Not always. Struggles are never beautiful if they fail to end up with success or happy ending. These kinds of struggles and fights become nightmares for life. And this is the story of Rakhi, a young girl belongs to a middle class family. It seems she took birth to shoulder all the responsibilities a human being can and fight for the justice throughout her life. Though life was like a fairy tale in her childhood, it changed the direction dramatically as she getting understand what life really is. Life, for her, has become a galaxy of battles. One of the...
If we are to go forward, we must go back and revisit our 'selves' and our past works. I exactly do not recall where and whom I heard this from but I realize this more than often. The idea of re-discovering someone came across recently at Kadambari - an audio-visual recording studio based in Guwahati. It was an evening of fun amidst a discussion on film making in the Assamese film industry vis-à-vis the evolving breed of filmmakers. Addas thrive long when people carry new challenging ideas and concepts with them. At Kadambari I priviledged the company of the likes of Zubeen Garg, upcoming filmmaker Manas Barua, film editor Samujjal Kashyap and few others. We were talking about...
