CBI indicts NDFB chief, 18 others in Assam serial blasts case
The Central Bureau of Investigation says National Democratic Front of Boroland chairman Ranjan Daimary is the prime accused in the October 30 Assam serial blasts case. According to CBI sources, Daimary hatched the plan for the explosions three months earlier. The revelations have come up three days after the invesigating agency chrgesheeted Daimary along with 18 others in the gory serial blast case.
According to CBI, after the planning in July NDFB cadres were detailed by Daimary to procure three used cars for the explosions in Guwahati and the details were worked out on October 19. The CBI further said two of the accused are women in the serial blasts that rocked Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Barpeta and Bongaigaon which claimed 88 lives adding that Jayanti Brahma carried timers for the blasts from NDFB's camp in Bangladesh while B Thorai brought the explosives for the Ganeshguri blasts in Guwahati.
The accused were charged for waging war against the country, possession of explosives and murder under various sections of the IPC, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosive Substances Act. The first hearing will be on 9th June.
Accoirding to CBI sources, the chargesheet with evidences from 828 witnesses and 762 documents of post mortem reports, phone call details and confessional statements of those in detention was filed in the court of the Special Judicial Magistrate here so that five of the accused in detention are not granted bail.

A day after he was detained by the Bangladesh authorities, ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa was pushed backed to BSF on Wednesday before being air dashed to New Delhi.
According to home ministry sources, Rajkhowa is being kept at a government guest house and is busy in preparing modalities for talk with the government. The first ever negotiations between NDFB and Centre seems to have fallen flat as the Bodo rebels are likely to reject the suggestions for complete surrender in the line of the DhD(J). According to information, the Union home ministry officers suggested the rebels to completely surrender to carry forward the peace process which they have not reportedly not agreed.
