Thai Princess on a day long visit to Sivasagar tomorrow

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn the Princess of Thailand on a high-profile day long visits to Sivasagar district, tomorrow with a 18 numbers of officials from the Office of His Majesty. The princess, who had made several visits to India, is on a brief visit to Patsaku village to interact with the members of Tai Ahom Community and to observe traditional lifestyle of the Tai Ahom Community at Parijat she also visit Tai Ahom houses and meet with the oldest Tai Ahom man in the village. Immediately after arriving at the helipad in Nazira by a Helicopter from Jorhat, Ms. Sirindhorn proceeded to the village by road. She spent around an hour interacting with the members there. And after taking the lunch at a hotel in Sivasagar town Ms. Sirindhorn proceeded to The Talatal Ghar (The Royal Palace at Joysagar), The Rang Ghar (Royal Sports Pavilion of Ahom Kings) and then depart for Charideo Burial Sites (sacred burial ground of the Ahom Kings and Royal family). After the day long programme is over the Princess then depart Sivasagar for Jorhat.

The Kathak Yatra is supported by ONGC Ltd.,Assam Asset, Nazira and Dipanjali Sangeet Vidyslaya, Sivasagar. Many renowned kathak dancers from Assam and New Delhi perform in this Kathak Yatra.
Mr. Pranab Gogoi, Minister of Handloom, Textiles and Sericulture and Law, Govt. of Assam inaugurated the 30-bed Sivasagar town health centre on Sunday.
