Senior journalist Ajit Bhuyan step downs from Prag News

Senior journalist Ajit Kr. Bhuyan has stepped down from Guwahati based sattelite news channel Prag News as it's chief editor.

Bhuyan, who has been playing a major role in mass mobilisation for the on-going anti-CAA protest in the state, on Saturday formally submitted his resignation.

Bhuyan, who has been active in journalism for the last three decade, is the founder editor of Asomiya Pratidin, the largest circulated Assamese newspaper.

He was also the founding editor of Aji.

NEW DELHI: The uncertainty over the draft of national registrar of citizens refuses to due down if the project nodal officer's report before the Supreme Court is to be believed. Nodal officer of the entire ongoing exercise Pratik Hajela told the apex court bench comprising Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice F Nariman that 123 crore documents are still lying for verification. If it so happens then there is simply no chance of the much awaited NRC draft by December 31. Earlier, the nodal officer told the court that only 48 lakh forms were to be verified and out of these 17 lakh doubtful where could be kept aside for verification later.
