BJSM urges Mohilary to break down alliance with BJP

Expressing serious concern over the prevailing move from BJP led NDA government to grant ST status to the six-communities,who are regarded as populas and advanced communities in Assam, the Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Manch(BJSM) has urged Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary, who is also BPF president to breake down alliance government with BJP to the greater interest of the existing tribal communities in the state.

The BJP led NDA government at centre had announced to enlist ST status for six communities in Assam,keeping aside dark the existing STs who are going to be worse affected in coming days.The manc strongly dead opposed the move to grant ST status to the six-communities and termed that it was a conspiracy to destablish the existing ST peoples in the state.

In a press statement, working president of BJSM Daorao Dekhreb Narzary and secretary Jayanta Boro,have accused that BJP led NDA government has been trying to chaos among existing STs who are enjoying ST status in the state. The manch expressed resented over the present development for granting ST status to the six communities,which has been going anti existing STs across the state.

The manch leaders urged the BPF president Mohilary to breake down the alliance partnar with BJP party and safe the indigenous tribal peoples and held healthy integration.

The manch leaders also appealed all tribal organisations to come forward united and voice jointly against the government’s move to enlist new ST status in the state.

‘This is the high time to be united among tribal organisations to stand with united voice to safe the identity  and dignity of the tribal peoples because the BJP led NDA government has been trying to make cohession  the indigenous tribals’, manch leaders added.

United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) president UG Brahma hinted seat sharing possibility with BPF in the upcoming BTC general council elections to be held in 2020. He reacted to the statement of BPF president Hagrama Mohilary. Mohilary said to medi thta BPF is not going for seat sharing but unification with parties. Speaking the media at Kokrajhar Press Club on Friday, Brahma said that there was only preliminary communication among both the parties regarding unification possibility ahead of elections. He has said that UPPL is willing for seat sharing in the upcoming BTC election. "Door is still open to discuss on the seat sharing and communication", Brahma said.  
KOKRAJHAR: Chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Hagrama Mohilary said the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) will continue its alliance with BJP and AGP in the upcoming BTC election due next year. Police launched a crackdown on illegal cattle smugglers and arrested ten persons on Thursday evening at Srirampur area in Kokrajhar district. Police apprehended a truck bearing registration number AS-01GC-3837 carrying 16 cattle illegally from West Bengal bound for Bangladesh via Meghalaya. Police  also arrested Arun Lyngdoh and Munna Saikia alias Ikram Hussain, president and secretary of the All India Livestocks Trader and Transporters Association, as they were escorting the illegal cattle truck. Members from Indian Medical Association (IMA) of Kokrajhar branch has carried out a candle light rally in Kokrajhar town on Tuesday evening in protest against the brutal killing of Dr Deben Dutta, a doctor in Teok tea estate hospital. The rally was started from Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital complex traversed to RNB Road, JD Road,fly over and concluded at the same point. Medical fraternities have strongly protested the brutally attack and killing of Dr Dutta. Rajya Sabha MP Biswajeet Daimary welcomes the publication of the NRC final draft. Daimary said that the state of Assam has now got an opportunity to see illegal immigrants free state. The NRC authority has published the draft lists on Saturday. He said that 19.06 lakh people's names were dropped out from the final draft lists. Daimary said that the peoples whose names were dropped from the lists, they are illegal immigrants or foreigners because they couldn't show their proper citizenship related documents.
