The 11 hour Assam bandh called by North East Students Organization ( NESO ) and All Assam Student Union ( AASU ) , supported by many other organizations opposing the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 was total in Namrup. The town wore a deserted look as vehicles of all kinds remained off the road. Schools and colleges, shops and markets, banks and offices were seen closed. The bandh supporters burnt tyers at Namrup Sonari Tiniali , BVFCL Main Gate , APL Main Gate and Sarmah Tiniali to stop the movement of vehicles.
NAMRUP: The Sonari Army under DAO Division organised a free medical check-up and assistance camp in Manjushree Tea Garden under Charaideo district on Friday, wherein necessary medical advice and assistance was provided along with free medicines to the locals numbering nearly 600 from various adjoining villages. The medical camp was appreciated by all and people of all age groups came forward to benefit from the camp, it also provided a platform for a healthy and positive interaction with the people of the region.
