Priya crowns Bwisagi Khungri in Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw

Kokrajhar:: Priya Brahma of Bishmuri in Kokrajhar has been crowned Bwisagi Khungri-2018 in the Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw(Festival) celebration organised in Kokrajhar,heart of BTAD administration on Sunday. The Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw(festival) celebration is going on with pomp and festive fervor in Kokrajhar as the Bohag month is today entered 8th day.

Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma saw busy in Bwisagu dance in Kokrajhar on Sunday.

Budding dancing young talented Priya Brahma of remote Bishmuri in Kokrajhar district has been crowned Bwisagi Khungri-2018 defeating many talented young dancers from different areas of BTAD region participated their dancing talents in the Bwisagi Khungri contest,which was organised in Kokrajhar to mark the Rongjali Pwrbw celebration.

Priya has been achieved the Bwisagi Khungri award defeating Tinu Basumatary and Jeni Narzary of Kokrajhar town, who were adjusted first and second runners up in the Bwisagi Khungri contest respectively. 
Bwisagi Khungri Priya was awarded a golden crown and cash Rs. 10,000 while first runners up was awarded cash Rs. 8,000 and second runners up Rs. 5,000 along with trophies respectively. 
The Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw was concluded on Sunday with two programme scheduled at Science College auditorium in Kokrajhar,which was organised by Kokrajhar Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw Paligra Afad. Assam forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma graced as chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony and handed over the awards. She participated in the Rongjali Bwisagu celebration in Kokrajhar and offered her Bwisagu Dance along with Bwisagu troupes that created amusement and cultural entertainment.

The school management committee of the UN Academy,Kokrajhar has also organised Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw with daylong programme scheduled at the school complex on Sunday. Huge peoples from all walks of life participated the Bwisagu pwrbw celebrations with  traditional music instruments like Kham, Shifung, Jota etc which saw huge amusement.A cultural rally was also  carried out in Kokrajhar to mark the Bwisagu celebration followed sappling plantations at Bhatarmari LP school on the occasion World Mother Earth Day observation in Kokrajhar. 
Priya Brahma, a young dancing talented(who is now studying in degree six semester in Kokrajhar Govt College)  has been honored with Bwisagi Khungri award after her third time attempted in her life. Brahma consecutively participating the dance competition since 2016 till date. She was adjusted third in 2016, second in 2017 and this time (2018) achieved Bwisagi Khungri Titled through thorough showcasing of dancing talents.

She has expressed her happiness after winning the Bwisagi Khungri award in her life. ‘I am very much gladness by winning Bwisagi Khungri award in the Rongjali Bwisagu celebration.I am a simple dancer and today won the Bwisagu Khungri award’,Priya Brahma said.

Forest minister Brahma hailed the Bwisagi Khungri contest during the Rongjali Bwisagi Khungri contest in the region.She said that the Bodos are coming from Bathou as well Bwisagu festival celebration.

 “I am getting very much happy as me today got Bwisagi Khungri tittled during the Rongjali Bwisagu festival celebration.I am a student of six semesters in degree course and a small dancer in my locallity. I think, this time my lucky has been brightened up as my name has been figured in the grand finalist. It is my third time attempts that was seen achieved today’, Priya Brahma said.

More than sixteen hundred NDFB cadres today formally laid down arms. In a ceremony organised at GMCH auditorium in the presence of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal 1615 cadres of the outfit submitted their arms before the government authority. Welcoming them to the mainstream chief minister Sonowal hoped that the Paresh Baruah-led ULFA(I) would follow the path of the NDFB. A few days ago the government signed a tripritite peace treaty with all the factions of the NDFB. In the treaty the Centre and state government, reportedly, promised to upgrade the BTAD as BTR.
Several organisations including AAKRASU and ABAMSU have reportedly, called a 12-hour-long Assam bandh on January27 in protest against proposed UTC for BTAD. These organisations are apprehensive that the Union government is going to upgrade the BTC as UTC. Already, they have warned the Union government to abdicate such move.
Several organistions have expressed resentment over the Centre's move to upgrade the Bodo Territorial Council as Union Territorial Council. According to sources the Centre would soon sign a peace pact with the NDFB . In the pact upgradation of the BTC as a UTC would likely to take place, sources revealed. Opposing the move AKRASU, ABAMSU and many other organistaions of the BTAD have warned the Union government to abdicate such decision. These organisations have also termed the proposal as undemocratic.
KOKRAJHAR: One junior engineer posted at Kachugaon development block has been arrested by police for his alleged involvement with a massive financial scam.
