Daisy enlists in Sriya Miss India grand finalist

Kokrajhar: Yet another talent fetches no less pride for Kokrajhar in the national scene. She is none other than Daisy Basumatary, a 21year old model who enthralled the grand finalist to contest the Sriya Miss India Contest-2018 in Jaypur in March.

 

The daughter of Subhash Basumatary and Minu, residing at Hadanpara(Ward No.8) in Kokrajhar town as she represents Assam in the contest which is proud of the state. The Sriya Miss India Contest-2018 has been organised by Sriya Miss India foundation to be held by last week of March next.

 

There are nearly 50 contestants are participating from different states in the country. Daisy and her parents expressed their gladness over the enlisted for the grand finalist. Daisy expresses her hopeful that she would be crowned Sriya Miss India in Jaypur as she is has been looking strong preparedness for the contest.

‘I am a girl of free minded and believe in hard working. Finally my hard work took me to the journey of my first national level of Beauty Pegeant,which is Sriya Miss India 2018 contest.Officially I got selected for this beauty contest- 2018 season’,Daisy said.

Kokrajhar: Hundreds of students from different schools and colleges held a candle light vigil in front of the Bodoland University today in protest against the Dokmoka incident.  The students shouted slogans and demanded strict punishment to those involved in the lynching of two youths--Nilotpal Das and Abhijit Nath. Kokrajhar: Seven students who came out with flying colours in the last Higher Secondary High School Leaving Certificate examinations from Kanthalguri village in Kokrajhar were felicitated by the Kanthalguri Village Committee here on Sunday. Kokrajhar:  About twenty women entreprenurs were given away desktop publishing (DTP) system in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. BTC executive member Rajib Brahma handed over the DTP and some other materials among the beneficiaries in the presence huge attended gathering. Kokrjajhar: An wild elephant reportdly found dead at Ultapani under Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district on Monday. A team of forest officials led by Ultapani Range Dhiren Basumatary rushed to the spot and recovered the body from area. Body of the elephant has been sent for postmortem. Reason of the elephant death was not known so far. 
Kokrajhar:  An woman died and four others injuried in a road mishap at Dotma Gwmwbili area in Kokrajhar district on Friday evening. Injuried were admitted to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital.  According to eye witness, the woman died and serveral others sustained serious injuries following head on collision with an auto tempo and a bike coming from opposite directions. The persons who received injuries were boarded on the auto tempo, were on the way for Tulsibill Aminkata after attending NRC hearing in Kokrajhar.
