Dokmoka mob lynching : Candle light vigil in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: Hundreds of students from different schools and colleges held a candle light vigil in front of the Bodoland University today in protest against the Dokmoka incident. 

The students shouted slogans and demanded strict punishment to those involved in the lynching of two youths--Nilotpal Das and Abhijit Nath. The students also urged the government to take stern measures against the rumor mongers in the social media.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma and Upendra Nath Brahma Trust condoles over demise of Maheswsta Devi, noted writer and awardee of Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity award.

Brahma said, India lost a great writer with her died.Devi contributed lots towards development of literary works through her creation in Indian literature. Devi was also awarded Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity award.

MULTA militant held in Dhubri

Security forces arrested a Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam militant from Dhubri on Sunday.

He was nabbed during a joint operation by the Army and police forces from Baijer Alga village in Dhubri district in the morning.

Security forces further claimed to have seized a 9 mm pistol along with four rounds of ammunition from his possession.
