Pranjal Baraik said that there are many Forest officials who have unholy nexus with Timber Mafias which we demand that a Judicial enquiry should be conducted otherwise in the coming days ATTSA Margherita Branch Committee shall intensify strong agitational programme against Digboi Forest Division and Assam Forest Department.

MARGHERITA: The Margherita Police on Saturday arrested four youths after the All Assam Schedule Caste Youth Federation Central Committee leaders tried to blackmail a local SBI employee. Identified as Jayanto Das(38) Ripu Das(32),Bolendra Das(37) and Pabitra Das, they allegedly demanded ₹7 lakh from the bank employee charging him of possessing a fake caste certificate, an allegation which the banker denied. The bank employee then lodged a formal complaint before the police who arrested the youths.
