BSNL service disrupted in Namrup
Ten years have passed since BSNL services started beeping in Namrup. But interrupted service has forced hundreds of it's customers to shed much to the delight of the private cell service providers.
Many customers have alleged that the service remains disrupted for almost 24 hours in the entire locality. Disruption takes place in the form of “not reachable” “cross connection” and call drop's giving huge inconvenience to many customers.
Despite repeated complaints, thr things have refused to improve. The authorities are least bothered.
The things have taken worse turn from mid July when the entire services collapsed and many customers are making ling queue in front of the local BSNL office to surrender their connections. They now prefer Airtel , Aircel , Vodafone, reliance jio ,etc .

Namrup: Rebel elements still keep unleashing terror in many parts in the form of extortion apart from recruitment drive even in the festive season. Army and police apprehended an ULFA(I) rebel during a joint operation in Sivasagar district on Saturday who was said to have been carrying extortion and recruitment on behalf of the rebel outfit. Acting on a tip off army jawans from Maibela and Joysagar along with police launched a joint crackdown in Bokota near Nemuguri where, the rebel identified as Navadeep Chetia was arrested. Then Nemuguri police took him into their custody after a pistol, two rounds of bullets were seized from his possession.
