World Population Day observed

Under the aegis of Orang Primary Health Centre and Udalguri Health Committee assisted by BPF district minority cell World Population Day was observed in Aminpara School at Rowta of Udalguri with a day long programme on Tuesday. The programme which was presided by headmaster Azizul Haque was attended as chief guest by Majbat legilator Charan Boro .The programme was anchored by Orang PHC BPM Pankaj Sabhapandit while Dr. Bipin Rabha retired joint director of health ,Udalguri threw light on aspects of family planning . He spoke on length on permanent and temporary contraceptive methods.
While Dr. Shyam Prasad Rajmedhi Sub-divisional Medical and Health officer cleared rumours prevailing specially on minority dominated areas regarding vaccines of infertility.
Mazbat Legislator Charan Boro highlighted on the dangers  of population explosion and thanked Jakir Hussain Chowdhury Secretary of BPF's minority cell for organising such event in a minority dominated area like Rowta.The ASHA workers of Orang PHC also enacted a street play on the ocassion
 on the theme of population explosion. Devotional songs viz. Jikir and Jari were also sung on the ocassion.Jakir Hussain Chowdhury highlighted the demirits of child marriage on the ocassion.The programme was also attended by many senior cutizens,noted persons of the district.

Udalguri:  A court in Udalguri has sentenced five people to life imprisonment for the 2017 murder of Sahid Jamal in Kalaigaon. District and Sessions Judge N. Senabaya Deori pronounced the verdict on June 20, convicting Tomser Ali, Md. Lal Miah, Md. Aibar Ali, Badsa Mondal, and Gajibur Rahman. Udalguri: The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Assam saw a significant turnout, with 72.99% of eligible voters casting their ballots across the Darrang-Udalguri Parliamentary Constituency.
