Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikash held at Udalguri
Udalguri district administration organized "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikash Sammelan" in the district on June 10 with day long programme.The programme was held at the Parade Ground of the campus of Deputy Commissioner office at Udalguri.The Sanmmelan started at 11 am with the lighting of the lamp by distinguished people followed by offering of floral tribute to the images of Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Dindayal Upadhyay.Sadhana Hojai. Deputy Commissioner, Udalguri in her welcome speech, spoke on the welfare activities implemented by the government during last three years in Udalguri.She also mentioned about a few issues being faced by the people of the district.
The district administration felicitated the chief guest of the day,Shiv Pratap Sukla,MP (RS) from UP; distinguished guests namely-Rihon Daimari,Minister, Assam;Narayan Deka,MLA,Assam;Ashok Kumar Dutta, GM,Oil India Ltd on the occasion.A ten minute multimedia presentation was shown on the success of the government welfare schemes during last three years.Attending the Sammelan as the distinguished guest,Assam PHE Minister Rihon Daimari mentioned about the welfare activities taken up by BPF under the dynamic leadership of BTC Chief Hagrama Mahilari.He said that infrastructure development has been given pririty in BTAD.BJP MLA Narayan Deka while addressing the mammoth gathering spoke on the success of the Sarbananda Sonowal led BJP government in Assam.
With special reference to its fight against corruption in Assam,he said corruption rate has come down drastically during the past year.Shiv Pratap Sukla,MP (RS) from UP attending the Sammelan as the chief guest offered tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose who had launched his war against British from the soil of North East.He also stressed the need for promoting trade and tourism between India and Bhutan saying that PM Modi decided to visit Bhutan before visiting any country of the world.He expressed his regret about frequent power failure in Udalguri district.
A few spectacular folk culture namely-Bagarumba dance,Jhumoor dance and Bihu dance were performed by the boys and girls from Khoirabari,Mazbat and Udalguri to much delight of all.Clad in traditional Assamese attire DN Hazarika,Additional Deputy Commissioner,Udalguri anchored the proceeding of the Sammelan along with other officials.
