World Environment Day observed in Kokrajhar
Jadu Uraw, a physically challenged youth,who studies in class ten at Dholmara High School,comes with a sapling for planting on the occasion of ‘World Environment Day’ celebration on Monday in Kokrajhar district.
The World Enironment Day was celebrated at Dholmara High School in Kokrajhar,heart of BTAD administration along with rest of the world on Monday by 135 INF Battalion of Territorial Army(TA). Students and citizens from the greater Dholmara area participated in the celebration and joined hands in the mass saplings.
It is an encouraging moment that Jadu Uraw, a physically challenged youth was saw participated in the sapling plantation on the occasion of ‘World Environment Day’ celebration, who is hailing from Aku line of Choibari Tea Estate of Dhubri district. Jadu, son of Mikal Tudu of Aku line, lost his right leg due to mishap in childhood and since then become handicapped. He used to come to school along with his colleagues that crossed around 4-5 kms everyday.
Jadu planted sapling in the presence of INF battalion official and students on the occasion said that today is the special day for preserving sapling and trees to conserve natural beauty and balance. He said that healthy natural give us healthy living and balance natural resources. ‘We must conserve natural resources to build a balance environment across the world’, Jadu Uraw said.
A.S. George, Commanding Officer of INF Battalion said that the day was organized to create healthy environment in the world so that human living could gain healthy balance environment. The programme was attended from student and citizens of the society and planted huge saplings along the Dholmara High School complex. He has urged the students as well publics to conserve natural beauty and make healthy environment for healthy living, George said.

Kokrajhar, May 2: A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district.
The three youths, identified as Deep Saha, Raj Saha, and Abhijit Karmakar, all from Barpeta Road, reportedly went missing after entering the river for a swim on Wednesday evening. Local sources informed that authorities, including the police, SDRF, and local residents, launched a search operation late Wednesday night.
