Uneasy calm in Basugaon

Citizens from Basugaon of Chirang district blocked the vital road on Wednesday evening alleging the murder of  a JNV Kokrajhar student at Ranchaidham disrupting surface communication for a couple of hours.

According to allegation, the family members got to know his ailment at 9 in the morning but as soon as he was rushed to the hospital, he was declared brought dead forcing his parents to call it a murder.

Villagers from Basugaon area staged road blockade and took out a process with the body demanding  a CBI inquiry into the incident.

Police launched crackdown on NLFB

Police administration have vowed for a strict operation against NLFB in Kokrajhar district as NIA has so far circulated most wanted and head count Rs. 10 lakh against the leader of NLFB M Batha. The superintendent of police, Prateek Thube told that the police has started its search operation against the NLFB militant organization along the India-Bhutan border areas of Kokrajhar district. Citizens upset over state budget

Various parties and citizens of Kokrajhar, including CPI-M, have criticized the Budget presented in the ongoing Budget Assembly session on Friday by Finance minister Ajanta Neog for 2021-22 financial year. Rupsi Airport in Assam gets regular flight under RCS-UDAN

  KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland People's Front's (BPF) elected member's numbers have been reduced to 4 from 12 in the assembly elections across the four districts of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Dry Days declared during election in Chirang

KOKRAJHAR: The District Magistrate, Chirang, Gautam Talukdar on Sunday declared Dry Days throughout the district including Bijni election district for maintenance of peace and tranquility in connection with the ongoing general elections to the Assam State Legislative Assembly 2021 from 6 PM of April 4 to 6 PM of April 6, 2021.
