NGO launched in Ukhrul

 URA is a public charitable trust instituted by a team of Ukhrul district's young professionals in varied fields who volunteered a host of activities to bring about positive change through quality education for quite sometime since 2011.

With their debut initiative 'The Basic-Nurturing foundation' imparting basics of subject matters through free coaching camps in different villages, drawing appreciation from both students and parents, the team decided to formally institute an organization and subsequently registered as URA trust under Trust Act 1908 on June 5, 2016.

During the official launching ceremony at NIYAM office, Hamleikhong on Saturday, Peingam Zimik president URA Trust that the organization is committed to lay a solid foundation of quality education for the upcoming students.

"Our goals are basically oriented toward community development through innovative intervention in various social sectors," Zimik said adding that the trust is currently engaged in education sector and that they are looking forward to intervene in culture and livelihood in future.

Ceremonially launching the trust in the presence of students, parents and well wishers, Dr. YL Mingthing invoked the Almighty's blessing for the success of the organization's endeavours.

He said that in this advanced era, students need to be very expressive of what they learn or experience in the course of their studies, and added that innovative intervention in the field of education is essentially required.

In his speech, Vareishang Phungshok secretary URA, said that the team has been doing voluntary services and initiatives for the benefits of students for more than four years now.

"Since we are purely sustained on our own financial support, at times we do have certain limitations and shortcomings, on the financial front," Phungshok said adding that they will nevertheless take such things in their stride.

Speaking at the occasion, social activist Dr.Achan Mungleng observed that community learning shapes the basics of learning for students. She also said that students are an important composition of the society because many important movements emerge from them.

Poor PMGSY road dashes villagers' hope

New trade registration system in Ukhrul town
