Murder attempt aborted

At a time when a village headman looks after the village administration, keeps smooth running of law and order, maintains peace and harmony in the village, the village headman of villages No.1 Borengajuli, No.2 Borengajuli and No.3 Borengajuli Mr. Beni Madhav Rajbanshi has played a role of a villain and attempted to murder his own brothers wife Mrs. Gita Rajbanshi and her daughters Miss Priya Rajbanshi and Pinky Rajbanshi. The three were seriously injured by sharp weapons and have been given first aid. On this regard the injured family lodged an FIR in the Dimakuchi police station but police have failed to arrest the culprit yet. The helpless family of Gita Rajbanshi have now been homeless and in this regard they have approached to the district judicial magistrate for further judicial action.

Snakebite blots on healthcare in Udalguri district

The poor medical facilities in tea estates of Assam have come into focus once again after a tea worker died due to lack of treatment after being bitten by a snake on Thursday. Twenty Eight year old BiptiKujur, a resident of Nonaipara tea garden in Udalguri district, was bitten by a venomous snake King Cobra on Thursday when she was plucking tea leaves. Woman attacked with blade

A woman was attacked by sharp blade by a group of unidentified miscreants at midnight of 13 June, the woman has been identified as Rashmita Tanti (50) wife of Kandhara Tanti an inhabitant of Budlapara Chowk under Dimakuchi PS of Udalguri district. It is informed that a group of men came in and attacked while she was asleep. The victim has been severely injured and has been rushed to Tangla PHC for treatment by local people and police. Python recovered

A large python approximately 5ft weighing 5 kg was recovered at 2 No. Borengajuli (Orangbasti) village of Rajagarh near the Indo-Bhutan border on Monday morning. Unabated Man-elephant conflict in Udalguri

Attacks by wild elephants continue in villages along the India-Bhutan border in Assam's Udalguri district with three people being trampled to death within a week this month and several houses being damaged. "Almost every day, elephant herds are entering villages and damaging houses and crops. People are scared and worried. A day long NDA coaching program was organized by Indian Army (Red Horn Division) of Borengajuli Army camp in collaboration with Bhergaon Block Development Committee at Bhergaon Sub-Divisional (Civil) Office on Tuesday.
