Mini Resham Mela at Bhergaon
A mini sericulture exhibition cum demonstration event was held at sub-divisional head quarter town Bhergaon on Monday. The programme was organised jointly by Directorate of Sericulture BTC Central Silk Board.Nerson Boro,Deputy Speaker,BTC Assembly formally inaugurated the sericulture cum agriculture exhibition after plantation of a sapling by Deben Boro,EM,BTC at 10 am.
More than two hundred sericulture farmers of Bhergaon sub-division mostly woman attended the open session at 1 pm, which was presided over by Jogesh Deuri,Director of Sericulture,BTC.Sadhana Hojai,Deputy Commissioner, Udalguri attended the open session as the distinguished guest.While speaking on the occasion she remarked that sericulture farming would benefited the villagers economically as well as would help conservation of bio-diversity in the sub-division.
Model sericulture farmers of the sub-division namely-Mahima Kachari,Mahi Ram Deka and Maina Kachari were felicitated for doing excellent activities in the field.All of them were accorded with citations and a spray machine each.Anjan Chakravorty,superintendent of Bhergaon sericulture farm;Mukul Deka and BK Basumatari,both extension officers spoke on the need for sericulture development. Dhrubajyoti Rabha of the SBI,Bhergaon branch spoke on cashless transaction among villagers.
