KLO, NLFT, PDCK warn B’deshi settlers
Terming the killing of Ratna Narzary, aged 37 of Khunguri village in Chirang district by security forces on December 29, 2016 as a fake encounter, the Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO), National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and Peoples’ Democratic Council of Karbi-longri (PDCK) in a joint statement to the media Monday condemned the incident as ‘a heinous crime committed against human dignity by Indian army.’
Security forces and local police eliminated Narzary at Laopani in Kokrajhar on grounds that he was a member of NDFB (Songbijit) faction. Civil bodies; All Bodo Students' Union, Peoples' Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement and the Bodoland People's Front along with residents of the area took to the streets last week to protest against Narzary’s killing.
The Indian army, paramilitary and police since long have been involved in heinous killings in Kamtapur, Karbi-longri and Tripura and parts of Western South Asia (WeSA). Indian armies are only good at killing the innocent, committing human rights violation and corruption. The Bengtal killing has exposed the ‘real heroism’ of India army to the people of WeSA. The people of WeSA are aware of how the Indian army is being challenged time and again by UNLFW and the freedom fighters of Jammu and Kashmir claims the outfits.
The outfits are of the opinion that they are under an Indian colonial occupation and that their national existence is facing a great treat.
“We have been fighting to restore our sovereignity and independence so that our identity and land can be saved. But government of India has been trying to crush our national liberation struggles by hook or by crook. The Government of India is leaving no stone unturned to suppress the liberation struggle of WeSA. Government of India and its armed forces have been deliberately killing innocent and unarmed civilians as well as freedom fighters of our region in the name of encounter,” stated the communiqué.
“If they (Indian army) can kill our innocent unarmed civilians, why cannot we kill Indian civilians in retaliation,” the outfits questioned.
On the Government of India’s move to settle Hindu nationals of Bangladesh, the outfits echoed, “We strongly oppose the Government of India’s plan to rehabilitation program for the Bangladeshi Bengali either Hindu or Muslim in Kamtapur, Karbi-longri and Tripura. We warn the Government of India that any move to implement the plan in our region could be faced with serious consequences.”
The outfits in the said release further went on to notify the Indian citizens (Bengali and Hindi speaking people) to quit Kamtapur, Karbi-longri and Tripura by March 31, 2017 or else face a dangerous situation. In the same breath it called upon the Kamtapuri, Karbi and Tripuri people to join their ‘national liberation struggle against India.’
