UDALGURI: The Indo-Bhutan border villages in Udalguri district fraught with human-animal conflict and bloodshed, continues to witness brutality of wild jumbos. The wild elephant continues to create terror and trample humans creating fear and panic among the border populace. 1 NDFB(S) cadre, 2 suspected linkman apprehended in Udalguri

UDALGURI: Based on specific input the security forces in a joint operation apprehended a NDFB (S) cadre from No. 2 Merabil area under Mazbat PS in Udalguri on Monday evening. The person has been identified as Geremsa Basumatary. The security forces also recovered one Indian grenade and one Chinese grenade from the farm land behind his house campus. Son hacks father to death in Udalguri

UDALGURI: A 30-year-old man allegedly hacked his father to death at their house in Barangabari near Dimakuchi in Udalguri district on Saturday night over a trivial dispute. The family members informed the police and handed over the accused.Reportedly, a heated argument ensued  between the deceased Byartha Kujur and accused Santosh Kujur. UDALGURI:The All Assam Minority Students' Union(AAMSU) staged a two-hour sit-in-demonstration in front of DC office in Udalguri on Thursday.The programme was held under the aegis Udalguri district committee of the student body strongly voiced against the purported suggestion by National Register of Citizens (NRC) state coordinator,Prateek Hajela to the Supreme Court to exclude five out of the 15 documents from NRC modalities.
