BPL widows gets CIC sheets
Altogether 35 BPL widows of greater Karigaon area were given away income generating livestock cow and CIC sheet with coinciding celebration of Interntaional Widow Day at Moslapara village in Kokrajhar district on Thursday.
The day was celebrated by Believers Church Bongaigaon Diocese,which has been come out to help the poor widows live in Moslapara,Jitpur,Haldibari,No.2 Bashbari extremely north of Karigaon. Twelve widows was given away one-each income generating livestock cow while 23 windows was given away four bundle each CIC sheet at a ceremonial distribution programme to mark the celebration.
Madhav Prasad Sarma,Kokrajhar DC graced as chief guest and distributed the materials among beneficiaries. Sarma,in his speech appreciated the initiative taken from Believers Church to facilitate income generating and to erect houses in rural areas.
‘It is an appreciated venture initiated from church to extend help in income generating by giving cow and CIC sheet to erect houses among rural widows in the area.This kind of facility providing among society would be benefitted to gain social integration and social development’, Sarma said.
Rev.Fr. Ajay Tulsiary,vicar general,Bongaigaon said that this is an initiative to facilitate poor widows,who are living under risk of starving in the rural areas.The church was working for the uplift of social unity and development in the region.
‘The church ditributed cow and CIC sheets among widows at Moslapara area who are far worse than the normal women.We have been celebrating the the day with honoring of wodows in the region as well across the world’.

Security forces belonging to Police,Army and Cobra battalion of CRPF apprehended a cadre of NDFB(Songbijit faction) from Mainaguri area in Kokrajhar district on Sunday morning. Salakati police apprehended three cadres of National Santhali Liberation Army (NSLA), Adivasi militant organization from Kachuabil area in Kokrajhar district late last night, who were involved with kidnapped Ajijul Haque alias Afjal, 23 of Choutaki village. Ajijul was kidnapped on June 30 last from his Choutaki resident under Salkati outpost in Kokrajhar and since then kidnappers demanded 20 lalks for the release of Ajijul. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the ongoing relief works for the flood affected areas on his Chirang district visit on Friday. Taking serious note of the prevailing flood situation, CM Sonowal asked the district administrations to visit areas to ensure proper relief operations and assess the flood damages. The carcase of a female rhino was recovered from near Abwidhora camp under Bhuyapara range of the Park this morning. Accodring to Park oficial, the rhino was found dead this morning. Preliminary investigation suggest, the rhino died due to lack of food. The female rhino named 'Mainao is stated to be ailing since the last few days.
