Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the ongoing relief works for the flood affected areas on his Chirang district visit on Friday.
Taking serious note of the prevailing flood situation, CM Sonowal asked the district administrations to visit areas to ensure proper relief operations and assess the flood damages. He also asked to evaluate the post- flood scenario and instil confidence on flood marooned people. Further, he asking them to keep constant touch with the local MLAs so as to jointly expedite the relief works without leaving no stone unturned in order to mitigate the problem. After the meeting, he visited erosion site of Aie river at Choto Nilibari.
CM also visited relief camps at Subhaijhar High School and Community hall and had interaction with the camp inmates. During that time BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary met him and discussed on various flood related issues of the BTC area. CM Sonowal ordered the district administration to take immediate steps for giving ex- gratia to the next kins of Jagesh Ray and Naba Ray of Dababil village who lost their lives due to floodm besides asked to assess the lost of properties of people properly and provide lands to those people who lost everything during flood. In view of taking permanent anti flood measures he also asked both the district administrations to study and identify the vulnerable points of river Aie and its tributaries with the help of technical experts of the Water Resources department.
