Campaigning for Assam assembly second phase ends

The election campaigning from different party and organisations in support of their candidates to the second phase of Assam assembly polls for 61 constituencies scheduled on April 11 has concluded by 5 pm on Saturday all over the state.

The second phase of polls for 61 seats out of 126 member assembly would take place on April 11,Bodoland region has also been witnessing of strong contestings from different party and organistaions,included Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF) contesting in 13 seats,United Peoples Party(UPP) in 14 seats,the Congress in 8 seats all over the region,besides AIUDF contesting in 14 seats.On the concluding day of campaigning,APCC president Anjan Dutta campaigned for alliance partner UPP candidate for Kokrajhar west Urkhao Gwra Brahma at Monakocha Fakiragram.Dutta appealed to all sections of communities to vote UPP candidates in the election to meet social change and integration. BPF president and BTC chief Hgarama Mohilary campaigned for party Pramila Rani Brahma for Kokrajhar east seat at Kokrajhar Santinagar where thousands of party supporter and voters thronged.Mohilary promised of social development among all sections of communities,because this BJP-BPF-AGP alliance party is forming government at Dispur with no doubt.

Anjan Dutta,APCC president said,’We are(Congress party) forming government for fourth consecutive term in Assam,because we have won 42-45 seats in the first phase of polls, and in the seduled second phase that to be held on April 11,would be winning 30-35  seats’.

‘It is required only 64 seats to claim forming government,but we are winning over 70 seats,so our government formation is sure and cleared because common publics are voting to the Congress party.In Bodoland region,We have poll pact with UPP party,whose public based is very strong,therefore the alliance government is sure in between Congress-UPP. The BJP led BPF-AGP alliance party is ‘Kishiri’(mixed),so common publics are not giving support to these Kishiri alliance in the state.They have lost masses based,so their dream of forming is not to be come true’.he said.

 Urkhao Gwra Brahma,UPP candidate for Kokrajhar west said 'My candidature is winning from Kokrajhar west seat,besides his party winning 7-8 seats all over the contesting seats in the state. This time peoples from all walks of life are supporting the UPP party and expectation of the winning large number of seats is confirmed'.

The BPF party this time will be facing suffered of defeats in very bad manner, because they are winning only in 2-3 seats.We are forming government at Dispur to gain more social change and fulfillment of peoples’ hopes and aspiration among all sections of communities, Brahma added. 

Hagrama Mohilary said that irrespective of caste,creed and languages are want social change as well integration,that is why this BJP-BPF-AGP alliance party is winning in large number of seats through which government would be formed in the state.

‘The BPF party is wining in all 13 contesting seats in Bodoland region,no party candidate could not be won because they have no public based.The alliance party has been gaining its mass based in the region and social uplift would be brought to the state’,Mohilary added.

Security forces from police and army apprehended a Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) from Maktaigaon area on Friday under Gossaigaon PS in Kokrajhar district,  Identified as Ranjay Barman of Maktaigaon.
