Vow against drugs

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was organized by the Indian Red Cross Society, Baksa District Branch at Barama on June 26 in a day long programme. Tupal Ramchiary from Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahai's of Barama attended as Resource person in the event. The entire day is coordinated by Rajib Das, Honorary Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Baksa District Branch.

The World Red Cross Day was observed at the Doomni Tea Estate in Baksa district on May 8 under the auspices of the Baksa District Administration. On this occasion, a free health checkup camp was held in collaboration with the Joint Director of Health Services, Baksa. Free physical examination along with free blood sugar, blood pressure, eye checkup and ECG tests are done in the camp. Doctors, nutrition counselor and other staffs including pharmacists, radiographer, laboratory technicians and nurses have provided humanitarian service in the camp.
