Wild elephant kills 1

A 12-years-old youth identified as Som Soren of Santipur Ultapani was died on the spot and another received serious injured following trampled by wild elephant late last night at Ultapani along the Indo-Bhutan border area in Kokrajhar district. 

According to villagers, a herd of 4 wild elephants reached the No.2 Santipur village late last night and attacked the villagers where the youth was died on the spot and another received serious injured. The injure was immediately rushed to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital. He was identified as Kistu Kisku (18) of Santipur. 

Sitting MLA and BPF candidate for Kokrajhar east LAC Pramila Rani Brahma visited the spot to take stock of the incident.

Kokrajhar: A sea of humanity is seeing along the Samoka Irrigation sluice gate River bank to participate in the community fishing near Bishmuri in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. ABMSU demands implementation Assam Accord

KOKRAJHAR: The All BTC Minority Students Union (ABMSU) has demanded proper implementation of the 6th Clause of the historic Assam Accord with letter and spirit. ABMSU also demands clarification of the terms 'indigenous' (Khilongia) which has been marked in the Assam Accord. Facing poverty, mother sells own son

KOKRAJHAR: In a shocking incident, a mother sold her own two and six months old baby boy to a couple of Sarupetat due to severe poverty. The incident took place at Sasargaon village under Raniganja police outpost along the Kokrajhar and Dhubri border area.
