Security forces from police and army apprehended a Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) from Maktaigaon area on Friday under Gossaigaon PS in Kokrajhar district, 

Identified as Ranjay Barman of Maktaigaon. He was involved with extortion, new cadre recruitment and arms peddling in the area. 

A pistol along with live bullet was recovered from him.

Thunderstorm kills one

A person was died and another received serious injury following heavy thunderstorm hit at two separate incidents in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. The heavy rain and thunderstorm came around 10 am in the morning in some areas in lower Assam’s Kokrajhar district,leaving one person identified as Lakshman Chouhan, 60 of Jamguri Chouhanbasti,Chandrapara died and another tea estate labour received serious injured at Lalmati village near Kokrajhar town. NDFB-S cadre arrested

Security forces belonging to police and army, in a joint operation arrested a cadre of National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction from Mainaguri area on Tuesday under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar district. The cadre was identified as Bipul Mushahary alias Bigrai Mushahary, 31, of Mohendrapur, was trained in 2011. He was involved with extortion, money collection, kidnapping, arms peddling and providing logistic supports to banned terrorist organizations. 88% repolling in Gossaigaon

The re-polling at 24-polling station at Kachugaon ME school under 28-Gossaigaon LAC was recorded of 88.15% poll and passed off peaceful, held on Sunday in tight security in Kokrajhar. The re-polling was necessitated following technical problem of EVMs on April 11 last. Voters from the polling booth come out and queue since early morning for re-polling and cast their votes.
