Senior BPF leader and former minister Pramila Rani Brahma has been elected straight six term consecutive from 30-Kokrajhar east LAC in Kokrajhar district to the Assam assembly that was today declared. Brahma,after electing as MLA for six term from Kokrajhar east LAC said that she will stress on social integration and development in the constituency. Brahma defeated UPP candidate Pratibha Brahma in huge 40080 margin for the six term. Six candidates contested from the constituency and shw their mass supports to the election. She said that her party has been eyeing to be part of government formation in the state and would place for seeking 3-4 ministry berths in the government.She thanked to all citizens of the constituency for electing her for another term.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar. The incident occurred along ride no. 1 under the Jharbari range of the Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district, where the smuggler was fatally shot while transporting logs on a cycle from deep within the forest.
